Marmite Monday

It’s that day of the year that you either love or hate. The August bank holiday in the UK brings a whole bunch of racing, all on the same day.

There will be lots of meetings on Monday and about a billion races. This may seem like heaven for some, but it’s a nightmare for others. Quite a few races will attract little liquidity, a lot isn’t of quality and many races will clash meaning that you can’t do much on them. The day usually does throw up the odd opportunity though. But I’m getting more relaxed with time, so while I’ll be looking for an opportunity. I’ll be doing other stuff as well. First race is at 12:30 and the last at 19:55.

As the evening comes into play we now also have the US Open tennis. First matches off at 16:00 UK time. I’ll skip on Monday, enjoy some time with the family and start in on Tuesday.

Whether you choose to enjoy the great British weather, the racing, Tennis or football, good luck whatever your choice!

I left a good job in the consumer technology industry to go a trade on Betfair for a living way back in June 2000. I've been here ever since pushing very boundaries of what's possible on betting exchanges and loved every minute of it.
