Champions league quarter finals

Looking forward to tonights match between Chelsea and Benfica. It has a nice feel to it. I had a good result on the Barca match last night, so hoping for a good evening.

Benfica must score to have any hope of going through, Chelsea are much improved since the sacking of AVB and the players must be feeling the pull of a final; but they still lack some consistency.

Comments on the forum made me look again at this match. Basically Benfica have a much weakened defence so you would expect Chelsea to shorten, instead they are drifting a bit. Search me!

1-1 from the first leg would have made for a clear trading path into this match. So in the absence of that I’ll be keeping a close eye on the match at the start to see what tactics are in-place given the current aggregate score. You would think Chelsea will be keen to not concede and wait for a clear opening. Benfica on the other hand have little to lose but, obviously won’t want to sit too deep. There is no specific way of knowing what tactics they will adopt until the match is underway, so I’ll keep an eye on that and start a trade from that point onwards. Oh for a microphone in the dressing room!

Lots of goodwill in the Chelsea camp at the moment
