Authorities close in on match fixing king

News this morning of many arrests in Singapore and the possibility that the leader of a global fixing ring, Dan Tan, is in custody.

I find it frustrating that corruption exists in sport and I believe its one of the reasons why if you manage to make some money in this market then people automatically assume it’s either not possible, or that something is wrong with the way you did it.

My inspiration for trying to do something clever in gambling markets was Ed Thorp. When I was young I dreamt I could become an Ed Thorp. But I didn’t realise that when I actually did discover something equivalent, it would generally be met with in-difference from most quarters and I reckon that’s down to being tied up with sports and stories like this. Such is life!
