Australian Open Tennis

The start of the year is a great time to get some Tennis trading experience under your belt.

The Australian Open is the first grand slam tournament of the year and usually presents some good opportunities. Last year we were treated to a legendary final which I documented on the blog. The final turned over £46.2m in matched bets in total. The thread on the forum documented a lot of the action during the course of the tournament and is worth a read.

If you on this side of the world a lot of action takes place in the early hours of the morning. So you may want to consider automating some of your activity using Bet Angel. At worst you can set some strategies off in practice mode, then export the P&L using automation to see how you did. Tennis is one of those curious sports where sometimes doing the unintuitive can actually work quite well. Don’t rule anything out!

I gathered a ton of data last year and progressed a number of new ideas which I put to use on other tournaments, so I’m really looking forward to it this year. I can’t wait to get stuck in!
