Chelsea vs Newcastle stats

Here are some stats I have gathered for this evenings game: –

Chelsea have scored an average of 2.29 goals per home game and have failed to score on 6% of occasions. Chelsea have conceded an average of 1.24 goals per game and have kept a clean sheet on 29% of occasions. On average they score a total of +1.06 more goals than their opponents at home and each match has contained an average of 3.53 goals. When playing at home Under 2.5 goals has occurred 24% of the time. Over 2.5 goals has occurred 76% of the time.

Newcastle have scored an average of 1.41 goals per away game and have failed to score on 18% of occasions.
They have conceded an average of 1.82 goals per game and have kept a clean sheet on 28% of occasions. On average they score a total of -0.41 more goals than their opponents and each match has contained an average of 3.24 goals. When playing at away Under 2.5 goals has occurred 41% of the time. Over 2.5 goals has occurred 59% of the time.

The market is forecasting just over three goals in the match with a supremacy of .90 to Chelsea.

United’s last league win at Chelsea was in November 1986 (3-1). Newcastle have lost five of their last eight Premier League away games, conceding 19 goals in those five defeats. Chelsea have kept only one clean sheet in their last five league games. Newcastle have taken just two points from their last seven Premier League games in London, and have conceded 12 goals in their last three games in the capital.

The most important thing for me this evening is seeing the team sheet. Chelsea have a busy schedule ahead of them so it will be interesting to see if any players are rested, see the Liverpool match last night, or whether they go for it to ensure they get Champions league football again next year.

Given Newcastle’s match against Man City it could be a pivotal premiership game this evening.
