UK Government changes remote gambling tax

During his budget speech today George Osbourne has announced plans to change the tax treatment of gambling tax so that it is generated at the point of consumption.

Depending on how it is implemented, this effectively stomps on offshore operators offering services to the UK while avoiding paying UK tax on those profits.

We have yet to see the detail yet, but that’s the breaking news.
