The Australian Open is the first grand slam tournament of the year and usually presents some good opportunities. In 2012 we were treated to a legendary final which I documented on the blog<\/a>. The thread on the forum documented a lot of the action during the course of the tournament and is worth a read<\/a>. 2013 saw Andy Murray have a shot at the title only for the strangest of circumstances to seemingly snatch<\/a>\u00a0his chance. The posts on the forum give you a good feel for how the tournament went and how individual matches panned out.<\/p>\n

If you on this side of the world a lot of action takes place in the early hours of the morning. So you may want to consider being totally unsocial or perhaps experimenting with <\/span>automating<\/a> some of your activity using Bet Angel. At worst you can set some strategies off in practice mode, then export the P&L using automation to see how you did. When I first started trading Tennis I\u00a0<\/span>carefully\u00a0gathered as much data as I could and\u00a0<\/span>analysed\u00a0it in exactly this manner. Please remember that if you are using any automated tool, make sure you thoroughly test your strategy before putting it to use with real money.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tennis is one\u00a0of those curious sports\u00a0where sometimes doing the unintuitive can actually work quite well. Don’t rule anything out when looking for strategies.\u00a0If there has been one trick I learnt to trading Tennis that was to go against what you mind feels. It’s amazing how many times in tennis you think somebody has lost or won, only for them to come roaring back into the match.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, you are only ever two points away from getting a shot at winning a game. Combine that with the potentially unlimited length of a match and you can easily see why Tennis is such a great trading sport.<\/p>\n
