An interesting set up for racing today. It’s a shame Ripon is off and Chester is only 5 minutes in front of Newmarket.<\/p>\n

I’ve picked off a few good results from the Cambridgshire in the past but I will remember this race forever for the disaster of last year.<\/p>\n

As we approached the key race of the day people started posting in the forum<\/a>\u00a0about performance issues with Betfair, we have a specific thread for this. Having done well on this race in the past, I was keen to press on but should have heeded the warnings as Betfair ground to an almost complete\u00a0\u00a0halt during the run up to race and stopped completely in-play; I was left hopelessly exposed. Needless to say the right horse didn’t win and I took a bit of a thumping. Betfair didn’t apologise or offer any recompense, but did dutifully continue\u00a0to take 60% PC the following Wednesday,\u00a0a nice gesture.<\/p>\n

On reflection it appeared to be a heavy schedule of football and a big field \/ betting race that kicked off the crash last year. So this year I will be well prepared. Spare copies of everything will be running and I’ll be logged in using different connection modes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hopefully I can replicate results from years prior, but this is one time I am not hoping for a repeat of last year!<\/p>\n
