It’s always worth looking at Statistics to tell you what really went on in a football match, rather than what you think you saw.\u00a0So with that in mind here is a round up of some stats on the England match: –<\/p>\n

10 – England have scored the joint-most headed goals at the Euro Finals since 1980 (along with Germany & Portugal).\u00a0 21 \u2013 S. Nasri’s goal v England came after 21 consecutive passes, the second longest sequence before any EURO goal since 1980. 40% – The percentage of headed goals at Euro 2012, compared to 18% in the top five leagues & 16% in Euro Qualifying. England made the lowest percentage of passes in the opposition half of any team in the first round of Group games. 1 – England have mustered fewer shots on target than any other team at Euro 2012. 7 – Steven Gerrard has made the joint-most tackles at Euro 2012 along with Eugen Polanski.<\/p>\n

England blocked 12 shots against France, since 1980 no side has blocked more\u00a0<\/p>\n

My view? Well I felt France looked well organised and dangerous, whereas England looked just well organised. They look like they are set up to not concede many goals, but didn’t really pose much of a threat. Maybe Rooney will add extra dimension for the last match?<\/p>\n
