I’m in a nice relaxed and refreshed mood for the first day of Cheltenham. Last night I used ears plugs so I could be assured of a decent nights sleep. With three children, a decent nights sleep is not always assured.<\/p>\n
The first day for Cheltenham is a day of learning for me.\u00a0 Yes I know what I am doing, but I am also really keen to understand what has changed from previous years. We will be gathering data today while we trade to examine later this evening.<\/p>\n
It would be a big surprise if things got easier with time so I tend to focus constantly on what is changing. We are hot on the trail of a new shift in the market at the moment, I’ll let you know more when we have it. If you feel your strategy is getting easier, well done, but\u00a0it probably means you have not pushed it to its full limits and you must do that. Push it till it breaks. Nothing lasts forever so, like life, make the most of it while you can.<\/p>\n
Because I have been around for so long and have pushed the limits of everything I do, I have to carefully examine every facet of what I do to stay on top of my game, so that is what I will be doing on day one.<\/p>\n
Day one is set up nicely and the weather is just perfect, they can water the course to get it just right if needed. If you remember back to 2008, the first day was called off due to high winds. No chance of that today.<\/p>\n
