I’ve been tracking the Cheltenham Gold Cup ante post market.<\/p>\n

Big news today is that Kauto Star\u00a0is definitely in the race and Grand Crus is headed for the RSA.<\/p>\n

We have been tracking top 15 runners and before the announcement they made up 100.2% of the book, after the announcement 100.4%. The big negative was obviously Grand Crus, but Kauto Star only covered half that deficit, with the field making up the rest. Long Run’s odds are unchanged.<\/p>\n

In summary, the best trade here would have been to dutch the rear of the field. By doing so you would have eliminated the uncertainty surrounding both Kauto Star and Grand Crus and profited from the remaining prices coming in. Any back bets on the covering any or most of the book including Grand Cruis would have failed.<\/p>\n
