{"id":12579,"date":"2017-02-26T10:15:36","date_gmt":"2017-02-26T10:15:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.betangel.com\/blog_wp\/?p=12579"},"modified":"2017-07-05T10:37:24","modified_gmt":"2017-07-05T09:37:24","slug":"new-version-of-bet-angel-released-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.betfairtradingblog.com\/blog_wp\/2017\/02\/26\/new-version-of-bet-angel-released-2\/","title":{"rendered":"New version of Bet Angel released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are pleased to announce that a <strong>new beta version of Bet Angel Professional is available v1.47.0<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nDownload it from here: &#8211; <a class=\"postlink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.betangel.com\/securedownloads\/BAP_1_47_0_beta1.exe\">https:\/\/www.betangel.com\/securedownload &#8230; _beta1.exe<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following feedback from our community this version sees:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>the introduction of <strong>Staking Methods<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>the option to calculate <strong>Offsets (and Stop Losses) by Percentage<\/strong> instead of ticks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>for Advanced Automation users, the ability to quickly <strong>Copy Rules between Automation Files<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staking method<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bet Angel can now vary stake based on the placement price of a bet rather than just auto-stake using the best market price.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are options to use a fixed stake or to calculate the size of the bet on the fly based on liability, book%, and tick size. Rather than update the on-screen stake using auto-stake, the stake you enter (ladder, one-click etc.) provides Bet Angel with your \u2018seed stake\u2019. The seed stake in conjunction with the staking method and the price of the bet will determine the actual stake to be used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">e.g. Enter a lay stake of \u00a310 and select a \u2018Liability\u2019 Staking Method to ensure that any bet you offer to the market will have a liability of \u00a310. So even if the current best price is 3.0, you can lay at 2.6 and a stake of \u00a36.25 will be used. Lay at 1.8 and a stake of \u00a312.50 will be used. In each case your liability will be the same as the \u00a310 seed stake you\u2019ve entered. This is particularly useful for in-play betting with its volatile price movement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2018Staking Method\u2019 has replaced the \u2018Auto Stake\u2019 area in the header of the main trading screen. We have however retained the original \u2018Auto Stake\u2019 option (now legacy) for those who still wish to use it. To revert to this view, click on: Settings &gt; Edit Settings &gt; Staking and select which option you prefer to use.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Staking Methods explained<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fixed Stake<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is the regular way of staking \u2013 the stake you enter on-screen will be used when placing the bet regardless of the price.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By Liability (Lay Only)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe \u2018Seed Stake\u2019 you have entered (or in the case of the Ladder, selected from the Standard or Preset area) now becomes the liability you are willing to accept on lay bets. So, if you have selected a \u00a320 stake and place a lay bet at odds of 3.5, Bet Angel will calculate the amount needed to realise a \u00a320 liability; at odds of 3.5 it would mean a lay bet of \u00a38.00 is submitted to the market. This means if that selection loses you make a profit of \u00a38.00 and if it wins you lose \u00a320. Note: When using this \u2018Lay Only\u2019 method, back bets behave the same as when using a \u2018fixed stake\u2019 so your risk in the market will be the same \u00a320 regardless of whether backing or laying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By Liability (Back &amp; Lay Bets)<\/strong><br \/>\nThis option is most useful when you wish to trade by liability. Your back bets are staked in a similar way to the lay bets so that positions in the market can be easily opened and closed. In the case of a back bet, the \u2018Seed Stake\u2019 will now be your potential profit (the liability the person who takes your bet is accepting) so if you have selected a \u00a320 stake and place a back bet at odds of 8.0 Bet Angel will calculate the amount required to realise a \u00a320 profit; at odds of 8.0 it would mean a back bet of \u00a32.86 is submitted to the market. This means if that selection wins you make a profit of \u00a320 or a loss of -\u00a32.86 if it loses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By Book%<\/strong><br \/>\nThe \u2018Seed Stake\u2019 is divided by the placement price of the bet (the amount placed would be the same regardless of backing or laying). So, if you have selected a \u00a320 stake and place a bet at odds of 5.0 the amount submitted would be \u00a34 (\u00a320 \/ 5.0 = \u00a34) and if the same \u00a320 stake was used to place a bet at odds of 2.2 the amount submitted would be \u00a39.09 (\u00a320 \/ 2.2 = \u00a39.09).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By Tick Size<\/strong><br \/>\nYour \u2018Seed Stake\u2019 defines the profit or loss that you wish to make for each price tick the selection moves (before greening), this would be the same regardless of backing or laying. e.g. If the seed stake is \u00a310 and a bet is placed at 4.2, then a \u00a3100 bet would be submitted (due to tick increments of 0.1 at this price; 0.1 multiplied by \u00a3100 being the \u00a310 seed stake you\u2019ve requested) .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Offset and Stop Losses by Percentage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You now have the option to place offsets and stop losses a defined percentage away from the opening bet. In the global settings area (top area of the main trading screen) a small drop down box has been added for you to select between using either ticks or Percentages next to the original \u2018offset\u2019 box.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can also use the <a class=\"postlink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.betangel.com\/user-guide\/global_settings_editor.html\">global settings editor<\/a> to save some named global settings presets using either percentages or ticks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These same options are also available when using Advanced Automation and can be found in the \u2018global settings\u2019 area on the \u2018parameters\u2019 tab within the Automation Rules Editor. Also, added to the parameters tab of the Automation Rules Editor are several additional options to \u2018place bets at\u2019 custom percentages above and below best market prices or SP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Percentage Offsetting and Stops are now also supported in Excel \u2013 see the templates for the syntax.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The \u2018custom column editor\u2019 of the one-click screen has also been enhanced &#8211;
