It wasn’t a surprise to see Newbury abandoned yesterday or today. When I went out on my mountain bike it was tough going and getting worse. I immediately felt the meeting was under threat.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a surprise however to see the meeting shifted to Chelmsford City! The meeting and the course seem incompatible, but I suppose racing has saved a meeting. I usually find Newbury quite nice to trade and Chelmsford horrible. Chelmsford markets are the most erratic on the card and I think that will probably trump the quality on display today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ayr is usually a good card on this Saturday but I’ve never liked Bangor. Thirsk has more horses withdrawn as a percentage of runners than any other course. So watch out for that!<\/span><\/p>\n

Monte Carlo masters Tennis, some F1 and a full day of footy promises to herald a busy day. Let’s throw in some evening racing as well!<\/span><\/p>\n
