We have reached the time of year when Monday and Tuesday UK racing drops to two cards in the afternoon. It\u2019s an important time of year, as this changes the characteristic of these cards to the negative, but also it allows you to do a few other things and skip these cards if needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Impact on racing<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Racing tends to be lower quality on a Monday and Tuesday and that combined with the 15 minute gaps in-between the cards leads to much poorer market conditions overall. I\u2019ll tend to\u00a0take\u00a0some time out on these days in line with my objective of getting some more balance into my life. But also, I’ve been trading on Betfair for 15 years now so\u00a0missing two meetings on a Monday and a Tuesday isn’t’ going to make much difference to my financial profile. In short, I can afford to miss these days. Two card days run from June until September,\u00a0at which point\u00a0we revert back to the standard format.<\/span><\/p>\n

How it affects what I do<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I will be using the time to tidy up research, work in new areas and produce some new educational material. Our education output will ramp up now I have more time to do it on a Monday and a Tuesday, so that’s a bonus. Subject to demand, I’ll be looking to run some workshops on a Monday and Tuesday. Later in the week, it will be head down and doing what I can in the markets. Still love doing Windsor on a Monday evening though!<\/span><\/p>\n

But you can still trade even if you don’t trade! Fire up Bet Angel for Betfair or Betdaq and use the various automated options to trade or\u00a0gather\u00a0trading data in your\u00a0absence. There is not excuse for not trading!<\/span><\/p>\n

Focus on key meetings<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One day you can’t afford to miss this week, well two actually, is the Derby meeting at Epsom. I’ve got some big results from the Derby so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in. It will heads down and trading the best I can. It makes obvious sense to give up the front of the week for the more lucrative meetings, you would be mad not to!<\/span><\/p>\n
