No trading for me this afternoon as I’m am off to the funeral. An old school friend has lost his father and, to cut a very long story short, I wasn’t lucky enough to have a conventional upbringing but his family and that of another friend filled in the gaps for me. So it’s the least I can do to offer him my support at a time like this. But as they say, his Dad had a good innings, so not the saddest of proceedings this afternoon.<\/p>\n
I’ll return later to have a look at the Tennis. The first week of the US open has been pretty positive so far TBH. But I’ve been lucky in that I have had few results go against me immediately, so I don’t think it’s fair to talk about the rather inflated P&L I’m seeing at the moment. It doesn’t include any real negatives, which is an unrealistic assessment of performance. I’m sure there are few waiting around the corner to balance things out.<\/p>\n
On the Racing I’m having a positive week, which is great.\u00a0This is the last week of the summer schedule so it will be annoying to see opportunities go, but at least I can look forward to an easier schedule. I’ve traded 94 races this week, you can see from my P&L consistency is my missing middle name. When you are trading indiviudal results can seem a bit over the place at times, but it’s remarkable how often the average result reverts to mean. I’ve skipped a lot of the lower quality stuff this week as I am less consistent in those markets. Yesterday afternoon was terrible, so I skipped a lot of races; but the evening produced some decent rewards. It’s always worth focusing on what you know will work rather than trying to make something from nothing. Most of the opportunity seems to be at Thirsk this afternoon.<\/p>\n
