I’ve been having a quiet week as you can probably tell from various social media bits. After fourteen years on the markets\u00a0a really busy summer requires an effort to not completely burn out so I’ve been taking it a bit easier. Also my twins turned to teenagers this week, so that’s worth celebrating. You may have\u00a0noticed that I still can’t resist a rock solid opportunity however!<\/p>\n

In the Summer it’s possible to skip some sessions as you know you won’t miss much. Monday and Tuesday afternoons in the summer can be, to be frank, bloody awful. So taking a break or doing something else isn’t really a problem. Yes, you can miss some opportunities, but I don’t particularly care this\u00a0stage of my career. Doing a Monday or Tuesday afternoon isn’t really going to make much material difference to me any longer even if I do well. So I’d rather look after my own well being. But don’t let me stop you if you wish, afterall I won’t be in the market!<\/p>\n

I don’t tend to miss the weekend activity though, that’s an ever present all year around. There is just too much good sport to get stuck into. We just had a decent card on Saturday which is great preparation for Goodwood. I always like to flex my trading muscles ahead of a big meeting and Saturday gave me the chance to do that and it was OK. I got some decent results across the card, I’ve posted my best and also the result from the Group 1, which was a bit below what I wanted. But I’ll take it!<\/p>\n

I also give my smaller stakes a run out as well.\u00a0It’s always really important to achieve these two things. First is to ensure I can work at the top end of the trading spectrum, but I also want to ensure things are still intact at the other end, if the markets are generally behaving in a manner I can understand. So on Saturday I re-ran the same experiment I did here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have another course coming up on the 4th August<\/a> where I will cover this strategy and I couldn’t live with myself if I actively recommended something that didn’t work. So re-running the same thing helps me understand that the market is behaving itself and that when I present on the 4th<\/a> it will be something I can prove is still working and something that can be replicated. This was using \u00a310 stakes, very small. But you could easily add a zero to that with few problems.<\/p>\n

So a decent weekend, experimentation has been done and that’s put me in good spirits for Goodwood. Roll on!<\/p>\n
